The Kentucky Wildcats and the Louisville Cardinals face off on Saturday for a college basketball rivalry matchup at Rupp Arena.
The Kentucky Wildcats are 9-3 on the season and while the Cats are talented their lack of experience has shown several times this season. UK has played the 19th ranked schedule in the country and they are ranked 18th as they play their final game before starting SEC conference play. Julius Randle is the Wildcats leading scorer averaging 18.2 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. Aaron Harrison is averaging 15.1 points, James Young is averaging 13.4 points, and Andrew Harrison is averaging 10.6 points. Kentucky is averaging 81.5 points and they are shooting 48.3 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 66.3 points and their opponents are shooting 38.1 percent. Kentucky has played well but they haven’t lived up to their lofty expectations.

The Louisville Cardinals are the defending National Champions and they have lost just once this season. UL is ranked sixth in the nation playing just the 190th ranked schedule and their lone loss has come to North Carolina. Russ Smith leads the Cardinals in scoring averaging 16.8 points and 5.0 assists per game. Chris Jones is averaging 13.5 points, Montrezl Harrell is averaging 12.5 points and 8.3 rebounds, and Wayne Blackshear is averaging 10.2 points. Louisville is averaging 86.2 points and they are shooting 47.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 60.2 points and their opponents are shooting 39.3 percent. Louisville has many of the players from last years’ team so they are battle tested in the big games.
Kentucky is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games overall, 13-27-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, and 1-4 against the spread following a win. Louisville is 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games, 4-1 against the spread against the SEC, and 41-17 against the spread following a win. The road team has covered he spread the last four times these two teams have met.
My free pick in this one is going to be on the total which is set at 149.5 and I like this one to go over as we have some stars who can simply fill it up. I also have a pick on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Plus Area as well as on the App.
