The Youngstown State Penguins host the South Dakota Coyotes at the Beeghly Center.
South Dakota has played well in some defeats and has gotten blasted in others but the bottom line is the losses have been mounting. The Coyotes dropped number five in a row by a 120-83 count to Morehead State which was over very quickly. SD connected at a respectable 45% but that did not compare to the Eagles 55% marksmanship who received 40 points from Drew Kelly. The Eagles amasses 22 more shots on 18 Coyotes giveaways and five DD scorers was still not enough. Casy Kasperbauer led the team with 15 points with Trevor Gruis adding 14 while Tavian Pomlee, Adam Thoseby and Brandon Bos each tossed in eleven points.

Youngstown State might be one of the bigger offenses in the Horizon League but the problem for them is developing more stopping power at the defensive end. The Penguins MO in the early going is putting up more points then the opposition but St John's was the team doing more scoring in a 96-87 decision. YSU shot the ball well enough at 45.5% but the Red Storm werered hot at 51% and held a 28-18 advantage at the charity stripe. Kendrick Perry led the scoring spree with 20 points with Ryan Weber tossing in 16 followed DJ Cole with 12 points. Bobby Hain netted eleven points and hauled in eleven rebounds while Shawn Amiker Jr and Marcus Keene combined for 24 points.
If you saw the way South Dakota perform against Wyoming, Green Bay and Kansas State you would say they are better then advertised but a 40 point loss to Morehead State was embarassing and this team is hopeless if they don't respond from that debacle...
