The Purdue Boilermakers and the Ohio State Buckeyes tip off their Big Ten college basketball schedules on Tuesday in a New Year’s Eve battle.
The Purdue Boilermakers are of to a solid 10-3 start and are a perfect 8-0 thus far this season. Purdue gets their second crack at a team ranked in the top 25 losing earlier by 10 to Oklahoma State. Terone Johnson leads the Boilermakers averaging 14 points per game. Ronnie Johnson is averaging 10.8 points, Bryson Scott is averaging 9.7 points, and A.J. Hammons is averaging 8.0 points and 6.8 rebounds. Purdue is averaging 78.4 points and they are shooting 45.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 70 points and their opponents are shooting 40.5 percent. Purdue has played the 231st ranked schedule that will get a lot tougher as they continue Big 10 play. The Boilermakers do a lot of things well but don’t do anything great.
