The Gonzaga Bulldogs host the Saint Mary's Gaels at McCarthey Athletic Center on Thursday.
Saint Mary's looked as strong as ever with their 9-0 start before suddenly looking vulnerable with three consecutive defeats. The Gaels returned to the win columnn with an 88-80 decision over a decent Pacific squad behind 52% shooting which included a 13-26 mark from distance to hold of the 47% shooting Tigers. Beau Levesque led five DD scorers with 18 points, eight boards and five helpers with Brad Waldow tossing in 14 points with eight yanks. Stephen Holt, James Walker III and Kerry Carter netted 15 points each with the starters accounting for all but eight points.

Gonzaga and their high powered offense took a hit when Gary Bell Jr broke his hand and took almost 13 points with him for the forseeable future. I don't know if that loss will hurt the Zags in the short term and it sertainly was a non factor in a 69-41 vistory over San Francisco as the defense clamped down on the Dons. The Bulldogs jumped to an 18 point half time lead and were never in danger with 43% from the field dwarfing the Dons 25% who also gave the ball away 16 times. Drew Barham paced the Gonzaga scoring with 15 points and nine rebounds with Przemek Karowski adding eleven points and eight yanks with the trio of David Stockton, Kevin Pangos and Gerard Coleman chipping in with ten points each.
Sam Dower might also be out for this one which has me thinking the best play is no play. I'm backing Gonzaga at home but keep in mind what I said...
