The Line: Boise State Broncos -13 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Boise State Broncos and the Fresno State Bulldogs face off on Saturday in Boise in a MWC college basketball matchup.
The Boise State Broncos have lost three of their last five games but with those losses coming against Kentucky, Iowa State, and St. Mary’s there just isn’t a lot of shame in that. Boise is 6-1 at home thus far this season and they have played the 22nd ranked schedule in the nation so they are battle tested. Anthony Drmic is averaging 19.5 points and 4.5 rebounds to lead the Broncos. Derrick Marks is averaging 16.3 points, Jeff Elorriaga is averaging 11.4 points, and Ryan Watkins is averaging 9.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Boise State is averaging 82.5 points and they are shooting 48.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 68.7 points and their opponents are shooting 43.4 percent. Boise’s los to Iowa State was by just four points as the Broncos are playing solid fundamental basketball.

The Fresno State Bulldogs opened their Mountain West schedule losing to UNLV to fall to .500 overall for the season. Fresno State has played the 24th ranked schedule in the country and they are 1-4 on the road this season. Marvelle Harris is averaging 16.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game to lead the Bulldogs. Cezar Guerrero is averaging 14.1 points and 4.6 assists, Tyler Johnson is averaging 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds, and Paul Watson is averaging 11.2 points. UNLV is averaging 75.2 points and they are shooting 45.2 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 71.8 points and their opponents are shooting 43.3 percent. Fresno State isn’t getting it done defensively nor are they getting it done on the boards.
Boise is 6-1 against the spread against the Mountain West, 9-4 against the spread in their last 13 home games, and 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games overall. Fresno State is 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five road games, 4-1 against the spread against the MWC, and 6-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread. The underdog has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
Boise looks like they might be a factor this season and with the way they can score I like them to cover this number.
