The Central Florida Knights welcome the Temple Owls to UCF Arena for an AAC battle.
Rebuilding has hit the Temple basketball program and I got the feeling this was coming with too much production lost. The Owls MO has been to score points and hope it's more then their opponents. That hasn't been as successsful as planned and wasn't in a 71-66 defeat at Rutgers with only 33% shooting to lean on. The only real difference was the Scarlet Knights 47% accuracy which accounted for a few more baskets. Quenton DeCosey poured in a game high 25 points with Dalton Pepper tossing in 19 points and snagging six boards followed by an eight point, 13 rebound effort.

Central Florida has one of the better offensive teams in the game with a decent defense which is why they are 8-4. The Knights were rolling with a five game winning streak before running in to an angry Louisville squad with the result being a 90-65 Cardinals runaway. UCF hung in there for a half before UL took off in the second half behind nearly 55% marksmanship including a 14-27 effort from long range while the Knights could only counter with just 35% accuracy. Isaiah Sykes was the only double digit scorer with 19 points and nine rebounds with the duo of Calvin Newell and Eugene McCrory netting eight points apiece while three others scored six points in a rather quiet scoring night.
I know Fran Dunphy will eventually be competitive with his Owls but it's probably not going to be this year. Believe me when I say this is a stetch but what do you expect from a fan...
