The Cal Poly Mustangs head to the east coast to face the Delaware Blue Hens on Saturday.
Cal Poly's best chance of success is to slow the game down and milk the clock which hopefully controls the scoreboard. That hasn't been the case in three consecutive defeats following a 79-62 loss at Stanford with the Cardinal burning the nets at 58% while shooting a cold 35% themselves. A 24-11 hole at the stripe was the straw that broke the Mustangs backs with just two players cracking the ten point barrier. Chris Eversley poured in a game high 25 points with Joel Awich tossing in eleven points with five pulls while three players contributed six points apiece.

The Blue Hens sit at 7-7 largely because they can light up the scoreboard but if this team could play any kind of defense they would be the sure fire favorite to win the Colonial. Delaware finally found some defense in a 77-64 defeat of visiting Liberty in which a 52 point second half erased an eight point deficit. Nearly 47% marksmanship and an 8-2 edge from long range provided the final margin with four double digit scorers. Jarvis Threatt led all scorers with 19 points and five yanks followed a 14 point effort from Kyle Anderson while the duo Davon Usher and Devon Saddler added 13 points apiece as the entire seven man rotation scored.
As a Delaware fan this is a game that has to go in to the win column which means they have to control the pace and improve their awful defense. Anything less and they can forget the cover...
