The Louis Brown Athletic Center and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights host the Louisville Cardinals Saturday.
Adversity has struck Rick Pittino and Louisville with the suspension of Chane Behanan but that seemed to inspire the Cardinals more then anything as they pummeled Central Florida 90-65 in the AAC opener. UL led by nine at the half and pulled away in the second behind nearly 55% from the floor and a 14-27 effort from distance while UCF was held to 35% and gave the ball away 15 times. Russ Smith was the offensive star of the game with 24 points and nine helpers followed by Luke Hancock with 16 while Montrezl Harrell and Terry Rozier added 15 and eleven points and combined for 13 rebounds.

Rutgers didn't receive much ink in the preseason which their 5-6 record might justify but the team has won three in a row after stopping Temple by a 71-66 count. Both ends of the floor contributed and that hasn't always been the case with the offfense sinking shots at 46% whle limiting the Owls to 33% which negated their 18 offensive rebounds and eleven additional looks. Kadeem Jack led four starters in DD scoring with 18 points and six yanks while Wally Judge and JJ Moore netted 12 points each with Judge grabbing nine boards followed by a ten point, seven rebound and six assist performance from Myles Mack. Junior Etou rounded out the top contributors with nine points as the starters scored all but ten.
I really don't have a real edge to lean on with Louisville facing another huge spread on the road. If the Cardinals play for 40 minutes they cover but I don't think it will take much for Rutgers to cover to be honest but I'm not touching this...
