The Maryland Terps travel to Pittsburgh to play the Panthers on Monday night.
Maryland improved to 10-5 on the year after beating Georgia Tech 77-61 on Saturday. Maryland had four players score in double figures and they had 16 assists compared with only six turnovers. Maryland had nine players rotating in and out of the game. The Terps shot 46.7% from the field and an impressive 52.6% from behind the arc. Nick Faust scored 16 points, Evan Smotrycz contributed 14 points, and Dez Wells added 11 in the win. On the year, Wells averages a team-high 15 points a game, while Jake Layman averages a second-best 13.7 points per game. The Terps are averaging 74.5 points per game and are shooting 45.1% from the field as a team this year. Maryland is a good rebounding team, pulling down 39.3 per game. Maryland has won three straight after losing three games in five game stretch to the likes of Ohio State, George Washington, and Boston University. This will be the Terps third road game of the year; Maryland is 1-1 on the road this season.

The Pittsburgh Panthers improved to 13-1 after beating NC State 74-62 on Saturday. The Panthers shot 48.1% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range. Lamar Patterson scored 22 points to help the Panthers win their first ACC conference game. Talib Zanna added 15 points for Pittsburgh, who won their first road game of the season. On the year, Patterson leads the team in scoring with 17.2 points per game and assists with 4.6 per game. Zanna averages 12.1 points per game and a team-high 7.6 rebounds per contest. As a team, the Panthers are averaging 76.7 points per game and are shooting 48% from the field. Pittsburgh distributes the ball well on offense and is a decent rebounding team. The Panthers have won three straight games after falling to Cincinnati by 1 point.
Pittsburgh and Maryland last played back in 2010 with the Panthers winning by 9 points. The Terps have played better as of late but I think Pittsburgh will be too much for them in this one. Maryland will be on the road for only the third time this year and I think the Panthers will win this game but Maryland will keep it within 10 points in the end.
