The North Carolina State Wolfpack travel to Notre Dame to play the Fighting Irish on Tuesday night.
North Carolina State dropped to 10-4 on the year after losing to Pittsburgh 74-62 on Saturday. The Wolfpack shot only 39.3% from the field and 36.4% from behind the arc, while Pittsburgh shot 48% from the field. T.J. Warren scored 23 points to lead NC State, while Ralston Turner had 11. On the year, Warren averages a team-high 23.9 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per contest. Anthony Barber averages a second-best 12 points per game and a team-high 4.7 assists per game. The Wolfpack are averaging 74.4 points per contest while shooting 47.7% from the field as a team this season. NC State is not a great rebounding team and they are decent at distributing the ball on the offensive end of the floor. The Wolfpack have lost two of their last three games to the likes of Missouri and now Pittsburgh, two solid teams this season. This will be NC State’s fourth road game of the year; the Wolfpack are 2-1 away from home this season.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish improved to 10-4 on the year after beating Duke 79-77 on Saturday. Notre Dame shot a whopping 52.6% from the field and 50% from behind the arc. The Irish reached the free throw line 24 times and only shot 50%. Eric Atkins scored 19 points and Pat Connaughton had 16 in the win. On the season, Jerian Grant averages a team-high 19 points and 6.2 assists per game. However, Grant is no longer with the team due to an academic violation. Garrick Sherman is averaging 14.4 points per game and a team-high 7.6 rebounds per game. The Irish are averaging an impressive 80 points per game on 47.9% shooting from the field. Notre Dame is a decent rebounding team and they do a great job distributing the ball on offense, averaging almost 18 assists per game as a team this season. Notre Dame has been up and down all year and they will try to win their third consecutive game on Tuesday, which will tie their longest streak of the season.
Notre Dame is coming off a huge win over Duke at home and this may be a prime letdown spot for the Fighting Irish. Meanwhile, the Wolfpack were outscored by 20 points in the second half and will be hungry for a win on the road in conference play on Tuesday. I think Notre Dame showed on Saturday that they are the better of the two teams and I think they will not only win, but cover in this game.
