The Bowling Green Falcons play host to the Eastern Michigan Eagles in the MAC opener for both squads.
Eastern Michigan has played a brutally tough non conference schedule that is ranked number five so their 8-5 record is pretty good. Their numbers are obviously effected by the SOS so we might know until conference play is hot and heavy as to where this team really stands. The Eagles tuned up for league action by dominating Rochester College 92-54 in a game that was over soon after the tip. With EMU firing away at nearly 60% points were plentiful with five double digit scorers. Karrington Ward led the scoring parade with 14 points and Darell Combs added 12 with the trio of Ray Lee, Glenn Bryant and Daylen Harrison combining for 31 points.

Bowling Green doesn't possess a big offense so points can be at a premium at times which puts loads of pressure on the number 55 D that allows 65 points. Suffice to say the Falcons want to avoid shootouts and milk the clock to shorten the game. The Falcons did just that versus IUPU-Ft Wayne yet still dropped a 65-60 decision because the Mastodons sank five more bombs and a handful more free throws. The combo of Jehvon Clarke and Richaun Holmes tossed in 16 points each with Holmes snagging nine rebounds while Spencer Parker was next in line with 15 points and six pulls with six turnovers. While the entire seven man rotation scored production outside the top three was hard to find.
Eastern Michigan has done well in the early going but where they fit in the MAC is still open for debate. I will back them here and see how they perform but they do look improved to me...
