The Kentucky Wildcats are 10-3 on the season and they are ranked 14th in the nation. UK has won three of their last four games including a seven-point win over Louisville in their last game. Julius Randle is averaging 18.1 points and 10.5 rebounds to lead the Wildcats. Kentucky is talented and raw but they seem to be getting better each game.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are 10-3 on the season and have won five of their last six games. MSU is 0-1 on the road this season and they haven’t played against a ranked team or a team with a RPI better than 50. Craig Sword is the Bulldogs leading scorer averaging 14.3 points per game. Gavin Ware is averaging 11.2 points and 8.9 rebounds, Colin Borchert is averaging 10.1 points, and Roquez Johnson is averaging 9.0 points. Mississippi State is averaging 70.8 points and they are shooting 46.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 65.5 points and their opponents are shooting 42.7 percent. Mississippi State has played the 333rd ranked schedule in the country so this is a big step up in competition.
Kentucky is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight Wednesday games, 6-16 against the spread against the SEC, and 1-5 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread. Mississippi State is 1-4 against the spread against the SEC, 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six games overall. The road team has covered the point spread in five of the last seven meetings of these two.
This number is simply too big and I am on MSU with the points.
