The Miami Hurricanes travel to North Carolina to play the Tar Heels on Wednesday night.
Miami dropped to 8-6 on the year after losing to Syracuse 49-44 on Saturday. Miami shot 42.5% from the field, 36.8% from behind the arc, and 75% from the free throw line. Miami, which trailed by four points at halftime, started the second half with a 14-4 run as the Orange missed their first nine shots. Garrius Adams led the Hurricanes with 9 points, while Donnavan Kirk only had 2 points but had 4 rebounds and 4 blocks in the loss. On the season, Rion Brown averages a team-high 13.4 points and 3.1 assists per contest. Adams is averaging 10.6 points per game, while Kirk averages a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game. The Hurricanes average only 63.5 points per game while shooting 42.4% from the field. This will be Miami’s fifth road game of the year; the Hurricanes are 2-2 in road games.

The North Carolina Tar Heels dropped to 10-4 on the year after losing on the road to Wake Forest 73-67 on Sunday. The Tar Heels shot only 38.7% from the field and an awful 13.3% from three-point range. James Michael McAdoo had 13 points and 8 rebounds to lead the Tar Heels, while Brice Johnson added 12 points and 9 rebounds. On the season, Marcus Paige averages a team-high 17.6 points and 4.1 assists per contest. McAdoo averages a second-best 14.6 points per game, while Johnson averages a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game. As a team, the Tar Heels average 79.1 points per game while shooting 46% from the field. North Carolina is an extremely good rebounding team, averaging 42.1 boards per contest. The Tar Heels had won three straight games before losing to Wake Forest. North Carolina is 7-2 at home this season.
Miami has won the last three meetings with UNC, including a 10-point win in the ACC tournament last season. Miami beat North Carolina in Chapel Hill last year by 26 points and the Tar Heels will obviously be pumped up for this game. The Hurricanes are catching UNC on a bad day, considering their coming off a loss and they have revenge on their minds from last year’s three losses to Miami. I think the Tar Heels will dominate Miami and win this game comfortably.
