The Washington Huskies and the Utah Utes face off on Wednesday in a Pac-12 college basketball battle.
The Washington Huskies are 1-1 in Pac-12 play after knocking off Arizona State and falling to Arizona. UW is 7-2 at home this season and three of their overall losses have come to teams ranked in the top 25. C.J. Wilcox is leading the Huskies averaging 20.2 points. Andrew Andrews is averaging 12.7 points, Nigel Williams-Goss is averaging 12.3 points and 4.5 rebounds, and Perris Blackwell is averaging 11.9 points and 7.6 rebounds. Washington is averaging 79.1 points and they are shooting 44.9 percent while defensively they are allowing 77.7 points and their opponents are shooting 48.4 percent. Washington’s loss in their last game ended what had been a three game winning streak.

The Utah Utes have won six of their last seven games and are at 12-2 on the season. Utah is 0-1 away from home this season and 1-1 in the Pac-12 but outside of that they have played one of the softer schedules in the nation ranking 327th. Jordan Loveridge is averaging 17 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Delon Wright is averaging 14.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.6 assists, Brandon Taylor is averaging 11.7 points, and Dakari Tucker is averaging 8.0 points. Utah is averaging 85.5 points and they are shooting 53.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 61.2 points and their opponents are shooting 37.9 percent. Utah has an impressive record and they played a ranked Oregon team tough but it is still difficult to see where they stand until we see them against more of the better teams.
Washington is 15-7 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 2-5 against the spread following a loss, and 1-7 against the spread in their last eight home games. Utah is 5-1-1 against the spread against the Pac-12, 21-8-1 against the spread following a win, and 13-6-1 against the spread in their last 20 road games.
I like the way Washington has been playing and I do see Utah’s record as being slightly inflated but I give the Utes the edge here especially getting points.
