The Southeast Missouri Redhawks look for their first OVC win when the Belmont Bruins visit.
Belmont's second season in the Ohio Valley might be a bit nore challenging with some lost talent even though they are still one of conference favorites. The Bruins are still scoring but the defense isn't as stout as we have seen in the past. The Bruins have won back to back contests following a 64-62 decision against visiting Tennessee Tech in which 42% shooting was just enough withe D allowing almost 49% from the field but forcing 19 turnovers. Craig Bradshaw tossed in a contest bet 17 points with JJ Mann adding 14 points and posting six boards followed by Evan Bradds and Reece Chamberlain with a combined 19 points and ten rebounds.

I know Southeast Missouri State has a lot of new faces so they were not expected to be a factor in the Ohio Valley but I don't think they can be written off with few teams standing out especially if the Redhawks can continue to light up the scoreboard with regularity. SEMO has dropped three straight but they have averaged over 75 points which tells us which end of the floor needs to improve. The Redhawks are coming in off of an 80-74 loss at Austin Peay in which the governors sank shots at 52% with SEMO countering with 50% but also giving the ball away 19 times. Jarekious Bradley carried the scoring load with 30 points and five pulls before fouling out with Tyler Stone connecting for 16 points while Nino Johnson and Antonius Cleveland combined for 15.
Neither team is the same as a season ago but in my view Belmont is a little closer which has me looking to lay the basket or so...
