The Valparaiso Crusaders welcome conference rival the Wright State Raiders to town.
Wright State is supposed to be a factor in the Horizon after a few seasons where it was a big time struggle. If so the Raiders will be leaning heavily on their top 30 defense which should come in handy versus some big scoring squads in the conference. I've been waiting for this team to go on a run and they were with four consecutive wins before dropping a 58-53 decision to Detroit. Both teams connected at around 36% with the decisive number being the Titans 20-11 edge at the stripe. The duo of Chrishawn Hopkins and AJ Pacher tossed in eleven points each with Miles Dixon adding nine points and six pulls.

Valparaiso lost their fair share of talent to graduation so challinging in the Horizon is not expected. Having said that the Crusaders are still shooting the ball well which has a familiar look. Valpo might finally be hitting the wall as losers in three of four where neither end of the floor has impressed. A 75-70 loss to Oakland was painful with Valpo blowing an eleven point half time lead where 50% shooting still wasn't enough with an even boxscore except for the Golden Grizzlies +5 edge at the foul line. LaVonte Dority led the scoring with 20 points with Alec Peters and Jordan Coleman netting 12 points each followed by Keith Carter and Lexus Williams with a combined 21 points.
The points look tempting the way Valparaiso has been playing but the Raiders 0-8 record on the road is reason to hesitate and possibly avoid this one altogether...
