The Wake Forest Demon Deacons travel to Pittsburgh to play the Panthers on Saturday.

Wake Forest dropped to 11-4 on the year after losing at Virginia 74-51 on Wednesday. The Demon Deacons shot only 35.4% from the field and 23.5% from behind the arc. Wake Forest allowed Virginia to shoot 50% from the field. Codi Miller-McIntyre only had 6 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists in the loss. Devin Thomas did not play well either, finishing with just 2 points and 3 rebounds. On the season, Miller-McIntyre averages a team-high 15.9 points and 3.9 assists per contest. Thomas is averaging 10.7 points and a team-high 8.9 rebounds per contest. The Demon Deacons are averaging 73.8 points per game while shooting 44.7% from the field. Wake Forest is a great rebounding team, averaging just over 41 boards per game this year. This will be the Panthers second consecutive road game and third of the year; Pittsburgh has lost both of their road game this season.

Pittsburgh Panthers vs. Wake Forest Demon Deacons Pick-Odds-Prediction 1/11/14

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sport

The Pittsburgh Panthers improved to 14-1 on the year after beating Maryland 79-59 on Monday night. Pittsburgh shot an impressive 52.7% from the field and 60% from three-point range. The Panthers reached the free throw line 25 times but only made 60% of their shots. Lamar Patterson scored 19 points and Durand Johnson added a career-high 17 points in the win. Talib Zanna added 13 points and a team-high 9 rebounds. On the year, Patterson leads the team with 17.3 points and 4.4 assists per game. Zanna averages 12.1 points per game and a team-high 7.7 rebounds per contest. The Panthers are shooting 48.3 % from the field and are averaging 76.9 points per game as a team this season. Pittsburgh does a great job distributing the basketball and they are a good rebounding team as well. The only game of the year that Pittsburgh lost was against a solid Cincinnati team on a neutral court.

Wake Forest is a young, improving team that has not played well on the road so far this season. Pittsburgh is a great all-around team and they are a tough team to beat at home. I think the Panthers take care of business and win comfortably on Saturday.
