The Line: Florida State Seminoles -7 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The Maryland Terps travel to Florida State to take on the Seminoles on Sunday.

Maryland dropped to 10-6 on the year after losing at Pittsburgh 79-59 on Monday. The Terps shot only 35.7% from the field and a lousy 32% from behind the arc. Seth Allen led Maryland with 18 points but the Terps couldn’t keep up with the Panthers. Evan Smotrycz scored 14 points, while Dez Wells was held to just 5 points in the loss. On the year, the Terps are led by Wells, who is averaging 14.4 points per game. Jake Layman is averaging 12 points per game, while Smotrycz is averaging a team-high 6.8 rebounds per contest. The Terps are scoring 73.6 points per game on average while shooting 44.5% from the field. Maryland is a good rebounding team, pulling down 39.1 boards per game, but they are not a great team when it comes to distributing the basketball, averaging only 12.3 assists per game. This will be Maryland’s fourth road game of the year; the Terps are 1-2 away from home so far this season.

Florida State Seminoles vs. Maryland Terrapins Pick-Odds-Prediction 1/12/14

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

The Florida State Seminoles improved to 10-4 on the year after beating Clemson 56-41 on Thursday night. Florida State shot 47.3% from the field and only 9% from long-distance against the Tigers. Ian Miller scored 15 points, while Aaron Thomas and Devin Bookert had 10 points apiece. The Seminoles held Clemson to its fewest points this season. On the season, Miller leads the team with 13.5 points and 3.6 assists per game. Thomas is averaging 12.4 points per game, while Okaro White averages a team-high 6.5 rebounds. The Seminoles are shooting a decent solid 47.4% from the field while scoring 73.6 points per game on averages this year. Florida State is a good rebounding team, but the lack the ability to distribute the ball well on offense. Florida State has won five out of their last six games, but the Seminoles lost their last home game by 12-points to Virginia.

Florida State is looking to bounce back at home after losing in front of their home crowd last week against Virginia. The Seminoles got back to doing what they do best against Clemson on Thursday, playing great defense. Meanwhile, Maryland has been up and down all year and they have not played well on the road. I think Florida State wins and covers this game on Sunday.
