The Arizona Wildcats are undefeated and ranked number one in the nation and while there is plenty of season left, they are looking squarely at a top seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Arizona State Sun Devils are coming off of a loss at UCLA that dropped them to 2-2 in Pac-12 play this season. ASU is 4-3 away from home this season and this is their first game against a team ranked in the top 25. Jahii Carson is averaging 18.1 points per game to lead the Sun Devils. Jermaine Marshall is averaging 15.6 points, Jordan Bachynski is averaging 12.7 points and 9.4 rebounds, and Shaquielle McKissic is averaging 8.2 points and 5.1 rebounds. Arizona State is averaging 77.2 points and they are shooting 47.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 64.7 points and their opponents are shooting 39.1 percent. Arizona State would like nothing more than to hand their rivals their first loss of the year.
Arizona is 14-4 against the spread in their last 18 home games, 19-7 against the spread in their last 26 games overall, and 5-2 against the spread against the Pac-12. Arizona State is 13-3-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, 12-3-1 following a loss, and 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games. The favorite has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
This is a lot of points for a rivalry game so while I like Arizona to win this one I am going to take the points.
