The Northern Colorado Bears look for a win at Worthington Arena versus Montana State.
Northern Colorado has the best combination of scoring and defense in the Big Sky which is what makes them such a big threat. The Bears have won eight of ten after an 82-75 decision over Idaho State where the offense saved the day with 50% from the floor and a 24-14 advantage at the charity stripe off setting the Bengals hot 56% marksmanship. The combo of Tim Huskisson and Tate Unruh pumped in 22 and 21 points respectively with Derrick Barden and Dominique Lee combining for 23 points and 16 rebounds.

Montana State has the potential to score and defend so this team can be a factor in the Big Sky although we need to see them in a few weeks with several more conference tilts under their belt. The Bobcats were heating up with three consecutive victories before a 77-72 loss at rival Eastern Washington ended the good times. EWU won the shooting battle 47%-38.6% but Montana State stayed competitive with 16 forced turnovers and 17 offensive rebounds leading to 13 more shots. Flavien Davis led the offense with 17 points and ten boards with Calen Coleman netting 12 followed by ten point efforts from Paul Eqwuonwu, Michael Dison and Antonio Biglow.
The key here is Montana State is better at home but I do like the balance of Northern Colorado who has the incentive of holding on to first...
