The Buffalo Bulls play host to the Kent State Golden Flashes at Alumni Arena.
Kent State is viewed as a challenger for the top spot in the MAC but we have to see more from this team to see where they stand. The Golden Flashes had their hands full with Northern Illinois before out lasting the Huskies 73-64 in overtime. Both teams shot in the 36%-38% range with KSU hitting a few more buckets in the extra session. Kris Brewer saved his team with a contest best 25 points with Derek Jackson tossing in 14 followed by Devareaux Manley and Kellon Thomas netting 18 points.

Buffalo is trying to get their name on the list of contenders in the MAC and so far I see possibilities. The Bulls look improved despite having their four game winning streak come to an end in a 67-65 loss at Toledo. UB had the Rockets on the edge with a seven point lead after 20 minutes before struggling in the second half. This might have been one that got away with 18 offensive rebounds leading to 13 more looks at the basket that bolstered their 41% marksmanship. Javon McCrea was the offensive star with 20 points and ten boards with Josh Freelove tossing in 16 on the strength of four bombs followed by Will Regan and Jarod Oldham combining for 17 points.
I think Buffalo is improved and Kent State has taken a step back. I still think the Golden Flashes are a good team but they need to prove it. I just want a cover...
