The Colorado Buffaloes and the USC Trojans face off on Saturday in Pac-12 college basketball action.
The Colorado Buffaloes are 14-4 for the season but they have lost their last two games. CU is 11-1 at home this season and 3-2 in the Pac-12. The Buffaloes took a huge hit when their best player, Spencer Dinwiddie went down for the season with knee issues earlier this week. Josh Scott is the new leader averaging 13.9 points and 9.2 rebounds, Askia Booker is averaging 13.5 points, and Xavier Johnson is averaging 9.6 points and 6.1 rebounds. Colorado is averaging 75.1 points and their opponents are averaging 68.1 points and their opponents are shooting 42.4 percent. Colorado will need to regroup on the fly as the Pac-12 looks to be very tough this season.

The USC Trojans have lost four in a row and these are the four opening games of their Pac-12 schedule. USC is 1-4 on the road and 2-6 away from home overall. Byron Wesley is averaging 16.9 points and 7.6 rebounds to lead the Trojans. Pe’Shonn Howard is averaging 10.1 points, Nikola Jovanovic is averaging 8.9 points and 5.2 rebounds, and Omar Oraby is averaging 8.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. USC is averaging 72.2 points and they are shooting 45.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 74.1 points and their opponents are shooting 42.5 percent. USC is all alone in last place in the Pac-12.
Colorado is 1-3-1 against the spread following a loss, 1-6-1 against the spread against the Pac-12, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six games. USC is 8-20 against the spread in their last 28 Saturday games, 0-4-1 against the spread in their last five games, and 0-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
This is a big number and while the Buffaloes are reeling from the loss of Dinwiddie they simply are the much better team here.
