Two underrated teams in the Mountain West will clash when the 9-7 Air Force Falcons will battle it out with the 11-7 Colorado State Rams when they meet in Moby Arena.
The first thing that comes to mind when glancing at these two teams is points, points and more points. Both squads have three players averaging in the double digits, and both offenses are shooting in the upper 40 percent from the field.

Colorado State has one of the better players in the Mountain West in forward J.J. Avila. He’s averaging 18.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. In other words, he’s Mr. Do it All for the Rams. He is dealing with a back injury, but he’s expected to play. He’s the engine to this Colorado State team and will give Air Force a lot of problems with his lengthy 6’7” frame.
The Falcons have a bunch of guys who can fill it up, as the team is shooting 47.9 percent from the field and a sweet 71.9 percent from the free throw line. They’ve scored at least 71 points in the last six games and are getting solid production from several different players. The guard duo of Tre’ Coggins and Max Yon combines for 31 points per game.
While most would probably side with Colorado State, I see Air Force being able to surprise some folks on the road. The Falcons are finally showing some consistency, winning three of their last five and only losing by seven points to a pretty good San Diego State team.
Air Force is 5-0 against the spread in its last five games overall and is 4-0 against the spread following an against the spread victory. Take the points and pick the Falcons. The overall depth and great free throw shooting should be enough to keep this one close.
