Delaware will continue its road tour this season when it travels to Matthews Arena to take on Northeastern. The Fightin Blue Hens are sitting atop of the Colonial Athletic Conference with an 11-7 record, while the Huskies have seen better days as they hope to improve a 5-13 record.
The good news is that Northwestern is at home, the place where three of its five wins have come. The bad news is that the Huskies are 2-3 against the spread in front of their home fans. Northeastern is simply a team that struggles to score the basketball, as 66 points per game is one of the worst offensive teams you’ll find this season. It doesn’t shoot the three-ball well (30.8 percent) and is even worse from the free throw line (63.4 percent).

Forward Scott Eatherton is just about the only player you can consistently count on to put the ball in the hoop. The junior is averaging a ton of minutes and leads the Huskies with 16.8 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.
This will be Delaware’s 12th road game of the season. Yes, you read that right. Some of those road trips include a four-point loss to Villanova, five-point loss to Notre Dame and a 12-point loss to Ohio State. I’m sure the fan base wishes some of those close games were wins, but being that road tested and competing with some of the best of the best proves that this matchup against Northeastern shouldn’t be a problem.
The Blue Hens are 3-2 against the spread in their last five road games and are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games on Saturday. If you’re looking for more reasons to back Delaware, it is 5-1 against the spread in its last six meetings against Northeastern. Never mind the chalk, Delaware should have little problem cruising to victory by a wide margin.
