If you’re looking for late action Saturday night, the 6-11 UC Riverside Highlanders will travel to Stan Sherriff Center to play the 11-5 Hawaii Warriors. Both teams head into the matchup a little streaky, as the Warriors have lost two straight, while the Highlanders have won only one game out of their last four.
UC Riverside isn’t the team to watch if you’re looking for points. The team averages just 67.4 points per game and shoots a lousy 30.8 percent from downtown. To make matters worse, its free throw percentage is only 67.9 percent. While sophomore forward Taylor Johns is a solid player, who is averaging 13.3 points per game and 8.5 rebounds, this isn’t exactly the team you should feel confident picking to cover any spread.

Overall, the Highlanders are an inconsistent 7-6-1 against the spread this season.
The Warriors are a much safer bet, as they shoot a solid 47.9 percent from the field and a much better 70.2 percent from the charity stripe. Senior forward Christian Stanhardinger is an absolute baller and capable of taking over a game easily. He’s scored at least 15 points in five of his last six games.
If you’re looking to make up for Saturday’s losses or are feeling lucky heading into Sunday, Hawaii is the side you should be on. UC Riverside has shown very little consistency throughout the year and the Warriors are 6-2 against the spread this season at home. They’re also 5-2 against the spread in their last seven against teams with a winning percentage under 40 percent.
Even with the heavy chalk, it’s tough to side with a team that struggles on both ends of the floor like UC Riverside.
