One of the better college basketball games on Monday that doesn’t feature a ranked team is a matchup between the 12-7 Delaware Fightin Blue Hens and the 10-7 Drexel Dragons. This will be the third road trip in four games for Delaware, a team that has won six straight. Drexel has been in a major slump since the beginning of December, losing five of its last eight.
We should all be familiar with Delaware by now, easily the best team in the Colonial Athletic Conference. It’s a fast paced team that wants to get up and down the floor as quickly as possible, which is why it’s averaging 80 points per game. It shoots 44.7 percent from the field as a team and a decent 71.3 percent from the free throw line. Defensively, it allows teams to shoot 45.4 percent from the field, but it scores so much at the other end that it doesn’t matter most of the time.

Drexel also has guys who can fill it up, including senior forward Chris Fouch, who has scored at least 28 points in two of his last three games. He shoots an extremely high percentage from everywhere on the floor, while senior Frantz Massenat has also been on a scoring tear and is averaging five dimes per game.
While the Dragons have been playing better as of late and should be able to do their fair share of scoring, it’s just impossible to pick against Delaware at the moment. The Dragons are 0-5 against the spread at home this season, while the Blue Hens are an impressive 6-2 against the spread on the road.
Continue to ride the hotter team until the wheels fall off. The wrong team is favored here.
