The Line: Duquesne Dukes +9.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
There aren’t many teams in the country hotter than Saint Louis, a team that has won 11 straight games. It will put that winning streak on the line against the Duquesne Dukes, a team that is 9-9 on the season and has lost three straight.
It was January of 2011 the last time Duquesne beat Saint Louis straight up. That likely isn’t going to change this time around, but the Dukes should be able to do just enough to keep this game within the spread.

The Dukes are not only desperate for a victory, but they’re also a solid 5-3 SU in front of their home fans. They share the ball well, shoot a solid 44 percent from the field and have two big men in Ovie Soko and Dominique McKoy who can put up double-digit rebounds any given night. While the overall record isn’t great, this team does a good job playing team basketball and can do enough to keep things close.
As for the Billikens, they haven’t exactly been lighting it up on the road. They beat Rhode Island by just one point, Vanderbilt by eight and Valparaiso by two. It holds a 3-5 against the spread record on the road, which simply isn’t good enough to warrant any money going on that side.
Meanwhile, Duquesne is 4-2-2 against the spread overall this season and is 2-1-2 against the spread in its last five.
I know the Billikens have had great success against the Dukes in the past, but Duquesne isn’t a bad team and should put up an honest effort against a ranked team in front of its home fans. Give me the home team and the points.
