The Akron Zips go on the road to tangle with the Eastern Michigan with first in the MAC on the line.
I don't think you can be unhappy with your record if you follow Akron but they don't appear to be clicking on all cylinders despite their winning ways. The Zips saw a five game winning streak come to an abrupt halt in a 75-61 defeat to visiting Toledo. The home team trailed throughout and faced a nine hole at the half with only 41% shooting to lean on. The Zips suffered through a 5-19 effort from long range which set the tone as three DD scorers wasn't enough scoring. Demetrius Treadwell led the attack with 18 points and ten rebounds with Jake Kretzer adding 14 while Nick Harney and Quincy Diggs contributed eleven and eight points.

Defense oriented Eastern Michigan doesn't have a big offense but if they play their game a lot of scoring isn't needed. The Eagles have won four of five following a 72-59 victory over Central Michigan in which the visitors slowly built a big lead. Defense was the name of the game with the Chippewas limited to only 35% from the floor which made their 44% accuracy a solid number that combined with a 29-15 edge at the charity stripe to give EMU an easy road win. Mike Talley was the offensive star with a contest best 21 points followed by a 15 point, 15 rebound performance from Karrington Ward while Ray Lee chipped in with ten points.
I think it's tough to back Akron with the way things have gone thus far and it's tough to back Eastern Michigan after watching them the last few years. I will lay the points with the Eagles but it's still not a good feeling...
