The Cincinnati Bearcats welcome the Central Florida Knights to Fifth Third Arena on Thursday.
Central Florida was stringing together the wins heading in to conference play but that momentum has been no where to be found in the AAC so far with the Knights going 1-4 through five contests. The high scoring offense has not broken out in conference actio and that was a glaring problem in a 58-46 loss to visiting Southern Methodist as 31% shooting and 18 turnovers was their downfall. Tristan Spurlock was the only double digit scorer with eleven points and five yanks with Daiquan Walker next in line with nine points. Scoring was difficult to find throughout the lineup versus defensive minded SMU.

Cincinnati continues to play suffocating defense with opponents being fortunate to reach 60 points. That defense has been leading the way to a 6-0 start in the conference with 60 points being the most allowed. South Florida felt the brunt of the Bearcats defense in a 61-54 defeat in which 39% from the floor fell short to 43% shooting Cincy. The key number was the Bearcats 7-2 advantage from long range with most other areas being about equal. Sean Kilpatrick was top gun for the Bearcats with 18 points on 7-17 from the field while Shaquille Thomas posted ten points followed by a combined 17 points from Justin Jackson and Ge'Lawn Guyn.
This isn't really the type of game I look at with a double figure spread in a conference game. Cincinnati is clearly in control here but their games are generally low scoring which makes backing them at this number a bit scary...
