The Montana Grizzlies take the hardwood with Big Sky rival the Idaho State Bengals at Reed Gym.
The Big Sky was once owned by Montana and Webber State but we appear to be in a rebuilding mode for the Grizzlies who are simply fighting for a .500 record. The Grizzlies have the scoring to challenge in the conference but the defense has yet to shoulder their end of the bargain. An 84-73 home loss to Northern Colorado was a prime example of this team's struggles at times with the Bears riding 58% shooting while the Grizzlies 53% fell short. Kareem Jamar paced the scoring with a contest best 23 points followed by the combo of Keron DeShields and Jordan Gregory with 19 and 17 points.

Idaho State probably has aspirations of winning the Big Sky but if that is to become reality they need to begin stringing the wins together now. The Bengals are looking up at three teams with a 5-1 record in the conference and their 3-3 mark is in danger of falling too far behind the pack. ISU gave Weber State a run for their money before falling 65-59 on the road for their third loss in four contests. Both teams sank shots in the 40% range but the Wildcats prevailed with a 12-6 advantage from beyond the arc. Chris Hansen was a one man show at the offensive end with a game high 27 points on 9-16 shooting that included five bombs with Tomas Sanchez and Jeffrey Solarin netting 12 and eight points with Solarin grabbing nine boards.
I think Montana is the better team but they might be a year or so away from being a serious threat. I will take Idaho State but nothing really to back me up...
