It could get ugly when San Jose State takes its act on the road to play Boise State Saturday afternoon. The Spartans have lost seven straight and have not beaten the Broncos since January of 2010.
It’s the same song and dance for San Jose State: little offense and absolutely no defense. In just the last five games, the Spartans are averaging just 59.4 points per game and allowing 70.8 on defense. It’s like the team has given up on both ends of the floor and just can’t wait for the season to end. Surprisingly, they still have a winning record of 9-8 against the spread.

Boise State hasn’t been that hot either, losing three of its last five. However, it has scored at least 74 points in the last three games and has played better defense than San Jose State, holding teams to just 68.8 points during the last five. On their home floor this season, the Broncos are 9-1 but only 1-5 against the spread.
Even though Boise State does just enough to get by in the Taco Bell Arena, its damn near impossible to put any amount of money on San Jose State at this point. The lack of defense and Boise State’s shooting is a deadly combination for a big cover. San Jose State has mailed it in, while Boise State still believes it’s one of the better teams in the Mountain West. The home team is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams.
Expect the Broncos to play one of their better games of the year and get the rare home cover.
