The Santa Barbara Gauchos go on the road to face the Cal State Fullerton Titans in Big West action.
Santa Barbara might eventually win the Big West but it won't be easy with several teams packed at the top The Gauchos do have some scoring and defensive ability that makes them a complete team although both had some problems in a 68-65 overtime victory at UC Irvine. The good news was each did enough good things to win with the offense winning with nine bombs despite 40% shooting overall while the Anteaters hit at 45% but were 3-21 from distance. Alan Williams gave the Gauchos 21 points and seven boards with Mitch Brewe and Zalmico Harmon dropping eleven points each while Kyle Boswell chipped in with ten.

Cal State Fullerton isn't among the favorites in the Big West with the scoring unable to consistently give the defensive end of the floor enough to work with. That was the trend in Thursday's 58-56 defeat at the hands of visiting Cal Poly which was loss number three in a row to leave the Titans at 1-3 in the conference. The difference was the Mustangs shot the ball better at nearly 48% with CSF checking in at 43% in a slow, half court battle. Michael Williams was the offensive star with a game high 20 points and five pulls with Alex Harris netting ten points and five boards on 4-13 from the floor with six turnovers followed by Marquis Horne with ten points.
Santa Barbara has the better numbers but sometimes that means zero in the Big West especially on the road. Let's see if the numbers work out the way I see them...
