Storyline: The 25th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners eye their third straight victory when they take to the road to face the Texas Tech Red Raiders Saturday at United Spirit Arena.
The Breakdown: OU is in a three-way tie for first place in the Big 12 with a record of 4-2 and come in off a 77-69 victory over TCU Wednesday. The Sooners allowed the Horned Frogs to hang around late and rally from eleven down to close within one point at the 3:18 mark, but would hold TCU without a field goal from there. Oklahoma connected on 26 of 55 from the field and 8 of 18 from distance, while holding the Frogs to 43.1 percent from the floor and just 5 of 17 from outside the arc. The Sooners also finished with a 36-32 advantage on the boards and forced 16 turnovers. Sophomore G Buddy Hield had a team-high 16 points to go along with 5 assists and senior F Cameron Clark added 15 points and 6 rebounds. On the season, Oklahoma ranks 11th nationally with 84.3 ppg on 45.2 percent shooting. Clark leads the team with 17.0 ppg, followed by Hield at 16.6 ppg.

Texas Tech, meanwhile, fell to 8th place in the conference with a record of 2-4 following its 87-81 loss to West Virginia Wednesday. The Red Raiders were outshot from the field 53.7 percent to 49.0 percent, but were stellar from outside the arc, connecting on 12 of 19, including 7 of 7 from sophomore G Dusty Hannahs. Hannahs had been averaging just 8.9 ppg coming in to the game, but scored a career-high 25 points to go along with six assists. Senior F Jaye Crockett had 16 points and 6 rebounds, while sophomore G Toddrick Gotcher added 15 points. Through 19 games, Tech is averaging 73.8 ppg on 47.5 percent shooting. Crockett leads the team with 14.3 ppg, followed by junior F Jordan Tolbert at 11.9 ppg.
Rick’s Pick: Texas Tech is currently a 1.5 point favorite in this one, which is a bit of a surprise. The Sooners have beaten every Big 12 team the Red Raiders have lost to and have proven their conference mettle by taking out two of the favorites in Iowa State and Baylor. Tech also beat Baylor, but the points look like the play.
