The Line: UNLV Rebels -10 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Fresno State keeps trying to get out of its funk but nothing is working. Maybe a rematch against UNLV on the road could give the Bulldogs a fighting chance to snap a four-game losing streak.
Sike, who am I kidding?
The Rebels went into Fresno Sate earlier this year and left with a commanding 75-52 victory.
UNLV is 12-7 on the season and winners in two of its last three games. It’s a shaky 8-5 at home this season but does hold a profitable 7-5-1 against the spread record in the Thomas & Mack Center. The Rebels aren’t going to score a ton of points and continue to struggle from the field, but they bread their butter with defense and rebounding.
That’s two areas where the Bulldogs simply can’t compete.
While UNLV is averaging close to 42 rebounds per game, Fresno State is managing only 35, and 30.4 during the last five games. That’s a huge difference between these two teams and will help UNLV cover the spread with ease. The Rebels are also holding teams to under 40 percent shooting, while Fresno State is letting teams shoot above 45 percent from the field.
UNLV has the overwhelming advantages in the two areas that will help decide this game. Not to mention it’s a team that has made you money all season, racking up a 12-6-1 against the spread record. Fresno State is 1-4 against the spread in its last five games, while UNLV Is 8-2 against the spread in its last 10 games following an against the spread victory.
Keep riding the loot train that is the UNLV Rebels.
