The Line: Wyoming Cowboys -5½ -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Nevada and Wyoming will meet Saturday afternoon in the Arena-Auditorium. These two teams played one another earlier in the year and Nevada won 61-58 thanks to a couple of last-second free throws to end the game.
Since then, Nevada has won three of its four games and is playing tight defense, holding opponents to 37.9 percent shooting. That’s a far cry from the 44.7 percent it’s allowed through the course of the season. The Wolf Pack are a lot more committed on the defense side of the ball, but is also still getting that scoring boost from senior guard Deonte Burton. His 32-point performance in a win over Fresno State was his best game of the season.

Wyoming is on a three-game winning streak and is also playing terrific defense, holding opponents to less than 60 points in all three matchups. It also continues to shoot a high percentage from the field and is 6-2 against the spread on its home floor. The Cowboys are a tough team to beat at home, and junior forward Larry Nance Jr. has been playing like a grown man over the last week.
But with all that said, Nevada did outplay Wyoming just a couple of weeks ago. The rebounding department is also a concern for the Cowboys, as they’re averaging just 23.8 per game during the last five contests.
I see Nevada getting the job done again.
The Wolf Pack are 5-0 against the spread in their last five road games and are 5-1 against the spread in their last six against Mountain West competition.
Nevada is simply playing better basketball at the moment.
