The Line: Buffalo Bulls -6½ -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
There’s going to be a pretty good Mid-American basketball game on Wednesday night when Western Michigan travels to Buffalo. The Broncos are 11-7 and winners in six of their last eight, the Bulls are 11-6 and have also won six of their last eight games.
This game could end up being a defensive slugfest with both teams holding opponents to around 40 percent shooting on the season. They also defend the three ball well, as Western Michigan is allowing 30.3 percent from beyond the arc and Buffalo gives up the long ball only 26.1 percent of the time. The under may be a great play once it’s released.

That defensive pressure has been taken to another level in Western Michigan’s last five games, as it is holding teams to only 36.6 percent from the field. Offensively, the Broncos are only scoring 63.2 points in their last five, but that doesn’t matter much with the way they’ve been playing defense.
The Bulls have been a lot better offensively in their last five games, averaging 71 points. Senior forward Javon McCrea has scored at least 20 points in three of his last four games.
The first team to score 60 may end up winning this ball game. I’d seriously check the total when it comes out, but for the sake of the article I have to go with Buffalo at home. Not only are the Bulls matching Western Michigan’s defensive intensity, but they’re also playing a lot better on the offensive end.
Buffalo is 4-1 against the spread in its last four home games and is 7-1 against the spread in its last eight games overall.
Give me the home team and the decent sized chalk.
