La Salle and George Washington will do battle for the second time this season. The Explorers actually beat the Colonials earlier in the month of January, 76-72, due to making 48.9 percent of their shots and knocking down nine three balls.
Since that matchup, George Washington has won four straight and has covered four of its last five games. It beat a solid VCU team, won back-to-back games on the road and is representing the Atlantic 10 quite well as the cream of the crop in the conference. George Washington couldn’t be any hotter, shooting 48.5 percent in its last five games and averaging eight steals per game defensively.

La Salle has actually cooled off a bit, losing its last two games. That includes a double-overtime matchup against VCU that it probably should have won. The Explorers continue to play great defense, holding teams to 42.1 percent shooting in their last five games and is getting a big offensive boost from senior guard Tyrone Garland. He scored 30 points against VCU and has scored in the double digits in six of his last seven games.
La Salle has been playing better than expected, but it holds a 3-6 against the spread record on the road. Meanwhile, George Washington is 3-1 against the spread on its home floor. The Colonials are also 4-0 against the spread in their last four games, and the favorite in this matchup has covered the number 17 times in the last 21 matchups.
George Washington Is going to want revenge from the loss a few weeks ago and should be able to do just enough to cover the spread.
