The Georgia Bulldogs and the Vanderbilt Commodores face off on Wednesday in Athens in SEC college basketball.
The Georgia Bulldogs have been one of the surprises in the SEC this season going 4-2 thus far in conference play. UGA is coming off of a one sided loss at Kentucky but they are 9-1 at home this season. Charles Mann leads the Bulldogs averaging 12.9 points per game. Kenny Gaines is averaging 12 points, Nemanja Djurisic is averaging 10.3 points, and Brandon Morris is averaging 9.4 points. Georgia is averaging 70.2 points and they are shooting 44.8 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 69.2 points while defensively their opponents are shooting 40.8 percent. Georgia will need to put the loss at UK in the rearview mirror but overall the Dawgs have been tough against non-ranked teams.

The Vanderbilt Commodores are having a rebuilding year but by no means does mean they have packed it in. Vandy is 2-4 in the SEC but they are coming off of an upset win at Texas A&M. Rod Odom leads the Commodores averaging 14 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Kyle Fuller is averaging 11.1 points, Damian Jones is averaging 11.3 points and 5.4 rebounds, and James Siakam is averaging 7.9 points and 5.2 rebounds. Vanderbilt is averaging 68.3 points and they are shooting 44.9 percent while defensively they are allowing 67.2 points and their opponents are shooting 40.6 percent. Vanderbilt is 3-5 away from home thus far this season.
Georgia is 5-0 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the point spread, 17-5 against the spread in their last 22 SEC games, and 21-9 against the spread in their last 30 games. Vanderbilt is 1-3-1 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread, 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 road games against a team with a winning home record, and 1-4 against the spread in their last five Wednesday games. The road team has covered the point spread in five of the last six meetings of these two.
