The Line: Nevada Wolf Pack -4 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Colorado State and Nevada will clash on Wednesday night in a battle between two of the mediocre teams in the Mountain West. The Rams have lost four of their last seven and the Wolf Pack have won five of their last seven.
Nevada is clearly playing the better basketball, covering in four of its last five games and shooting 44.6 percent from the field. In the Wolf Pack’s last five games, they’re actually holding opponents to just 39.5 percent from the field and 32.6 percent from beyond the arc. Even a well shooting team such as Utah State was held to just 54 points when they played a couple of weeks ago.

That type of defensive pressure won’t bode well for Colorado State, a team that has been shooting less than 40 percent in its last five matchups. Points have been hard to come by and it’s really been the teams rebounding advantage that has kept the Rams in games. Colorado State is one of the better rebounding teams in the land with an average of 38 per game.
I see this line being a gift. Nevada is not only the better team and playing the better basketball, but it’s also playing a Colorado State team that is 3-10-1 this season against the spread. Meanwhile, the Wolf Pack have been a covering machine, getting the job done against the spread in six of their last seven games against conference competition.
Take Nevada and the small chalk with high confidence.
