The Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns look to flex some muscle when they visit Arkansas Little Rock.
The numbers tell us the big offense of Louisiana-Lafayette needs to light up the scoreboard on a nightly basis because opponents do and no scoring means losing. That was what we saw in a 79-70 home loss to Western Kentucky who picked up a rare winat the Cajundome. The Hilltoppers did it with 49% shooting and by hitting their free throws to out gun the 39% shooting of the home team. Elfrid Payton gave the offense 16 points with Shawn Long and Bryant Mbamalu netting 13 points each with Long hauling down eleven rebounds while Xavier Rimmer rounded out the top contributors with ten points.

Arkansas-Little Rock is getting outscored 75-70 according to the stats but what I see is the Trojans have lost by some wide margins and have won by close margins so the numbers might be a bit misleading in my view. These trends continued in 77-49 defeat at Arkansas State in which the visitors struggled from the opening tip and continued to have problems for 40 minutes. This was a case of stingy defense and never finding the shooting touch at only 24% from the field which meant the rest of the boxscore really didn't matter. Gus Leeper was the only player to crack DD in the scoring column with ten points while Ben Dillard and Leroy Isler tossed in nine points each.
I think the botom line is the Ragin' Cajuns have struggled on the road against similar competition so that has me looking at the home team...
