The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks will go for the upset of Eastern Kentucky at Alumni Coliseum.
On the surface Tennessee-Martin's 7-16 record only sticks out for the number of defeats when in fact the seven wins is an improvement so there's my two cents when it comes to the glass is half full theory. The bottom line is the defense still allows over 80 points and that alone makes it tough to win. The defense struggled in an 87-82 loss to visiting SIU-Edwardsville with UTM connecting at 52.5% yet not comparing to the Cougars torrid 61% marksmanship. Terrence Smith pumped in a game high 22 points with Dee Oldham and Myles Taylor adding 16 and 15 points followed by a 12 point effort from Mike Liabo.

After knocking off Belmont a little more then a week ago, Eastern Kentucky went for the season sweep on the road but fell just short in an 84-81 decision. The Colonels can blame this one on a dreadful first half that saw them trail by 20 points before a dramatic comeback simply ran out of clock. The key was a defense that gave up 52% shooting to the Bruins which included the inability to contain JJ Mann who poured in 34 points. Glenn Cosey carried the offense for the Colonels with 24 points on the strength of six bombs while Corey Walden chimed in with 19 followed by a 14 point, eleven rebound performance from Eric Stutz.
When I look at the numbers I am astounded that Tennessee-Martin can not stop anything on defense which means Eastern Kentucky will score. Not a big fan of the chalk and I would probably take the points if I bet this but I would look at the over when it's released...
