The Weber State Wildcats aim to stay atop the Big Sky when they visit the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks.
The Big Sky is shaping up to be a battle between perennial favorite and Weber State and I have yet to decide which team I like better. You can make an argument for the Wildcats who can both score and defend and are riding five game winning streak after knocking off rebuilding Montana 68-63 on Saturday. Weber shot the ball well at 47% and sank five more free throws while holding the Grizzlies to 42% shooting to win in a slow paced game. Davion Berry was the scoring star with 25 points and five pulls Joel Bolomboy tossing in eleven points and posting 19 rebounds while Kyndahl Hill and Kyle Tresnek combined for 21 points.

Northern Arizona currently sits in the top four of the Big Sky and need to steal a few wins that nobody expects them to to have a shot at the conference title. That means the Lumberjacks need to squeeze more production out of both ends of the floor. That hasn't been the case in back to back defeats after dropping an 84-68 decision at North Dakota despite 51% marksmanship. That was because the Fighting Sioux hit at a 50% clip and forged 13 more looks with NAU giving the ball away 16 times. Max Jacobsen led the offense with 19 points with Quinton Upshur posting 13 followed by Aaseem Dixon with ten and Kris Anku with nine.
Weber State struggles on the road and Northern Arizona is tough at home so a small spread is probably about right. My thinking is the Wildcats are in first and have to win on the road or they aren't going to win the conference so we'll see just how good they are...
