The Siena Saints and the Niagara Purple Eagles take the floor at the Times Union Center.
Niagara has obviously had their issues in 2013-14 and the 84 points allowed per game is all the further we have to look when figuring out where the issues are. The Purple Eagles head to Siena looking to buid on their 80-74 decision over Marist. Even though the Red Foxes hit at 52.8%, the Purple Eagles 48% prevailed thanks to a few more threes and a 23-11 advantage at the stripe. Antoine Mason paced the attack with 22 points followed by Marvin Jordan and his 18 points while Marcus Ware netted 12 points and four others chipped in with seven each.

Siena has come up with some solid performances although stringing them together has been an issue. The Saints need both ends of the floor to get on the same page to have their best chance of winning although the defense came up huge in a 64-56 road win over Fairfield. The visitors erased a six point half time deficit with a 39-25 burst over the final 20 minutes with a +7 at the charity stripe the key number. The one, two punch of Brett Bisping and Rob Poole carried the scoring with 19 points apiece while Ryan Oliver added nine points and six boards. Eleven players received minutes but production was difficult to come by.
One thing about this series are the games are seldom close so this boils down to which team is most likely to step up. Given the Purple Eagles issues away from home I'll back the Saints...
