When Rice takes on Texas-San Antonio Thursday night, it’s going to be a battle between two of the worst teams in the Conference USA.
Which team wants to feel good about itself for a couple of days and climb out of the basement?

Good luck picking the winner in this matchup. The Owls have lost eight of their last nine, the Roadrunners are riding a three-game winning streak. Please, do yourself a favor a stay away from this game.
Rice continues to be a brutal offensive team, shooting less than 41 percent on the season and has scored more than 70 points just once in its last nine games. Defensively, it’s allowing teams to shoot 45 percent from the field in its last five games and 38 percent from downtown. It’s quite clear why the Owls can’t seem to win many games this season.
The Roadrunners haven’t been much better, scoring no more than 65 points in their last three games. They struggle to rebound, average 16 turnovers per game and are giving up more than 47 percent from the field in their last five contests.
Again, stay away.
Throw out the trends, the against the spread records and anything else that may be helpful. In a matchup between two teams this lousy, I’m always going with the squad that is given points. Considering even oddsmakers have this game as a pick em, give me the home team in Texas-San Antonio.
