The Line: Brown Bears -13.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The 1-15 Cornell Big Red will play their Ivy League foe, the 9-7 Brown Bears on Friday night. Brown has won three of its last four games and Cornell, well, it has won one of its last 16. This certainly isn’t a game you should waste a Friday night watching.
But hey, if it makes you money, who’s complaining?

It should be no surprise that the Big Red have been absolutely awful all season long. Whether you want to look at season or most recent stats, it’s absolutely brutal. In just their last five games, they’re averaging 57.8 points and allowing 73.8 points. They can’t buy a basket from anywhere on the floor, don’t play a lick of defense and have kept only three of their 15 losses within single digits.
The Bears have actually played really solid basketball this season. Their record may not knock your socks off, but they did travel to Providence and Northwestern and left with two games decided by six or less points. They’re shooting a solid 44.5 percent from the field on the season and 40.6 percent from downtown in their last five games.
Cornell has actually won nine of its last 10 games against Brown and is 10-1 against the spread in its last 11 meetings in Brown. However, this is a completely different year and both teams are playing completely different styles of basketball.
You could ride history if you’d like, but I can’t put my money on a team that’s 1-15 and gets blown out on the regular. Cornell is also 0-9 SU on the road.
Give me Brown and the chalk, please.
