The Line: Oklahoma State Cowboys -10.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Storyline: Skidding Baylor hopes to put the brakes on a five-game losing streak and climb out of the bottom of the Big 12 standings when they visit #9 Oklahoma State Saturday.
The Breakdown: The wheels have officially fallen off the wagon for the Bears as they dropped their fifth straight in a 66-64 heartbreaker to West Virginia at home Tuesday. They now sit at the bottom of the conference in 9th place. Junior G Juwan Staten’s layup with 3 three seconds remaining sent the Mountaineers to the victory. Baylor topped WVU from the field 45.5 percent to 40.0 percent and from outside the arc 50.0 percent to 34.8 percent, but committed 17 turnovers and failed to cash in on six late Mountaineers turnovers. Senior G Brady Heslip had a team-high 13 points, including 4 of 6 from downtown, and sophomore F Taurean Prince added 11 points and 3 rebounds off the bench. On the season, the Bears are averaging 75.7 ppg on 46.7 percent shooting. Senior F Corey Jefferson leads the team with 12.6 ppg, followed by junior G Kenny Chery at 11.0 ppg.

Oklahoma State, meanwhile, fell to fifth place in the conference at 4-3 after its 88-76 upset loss at Oklahoma Monday. The Cowboys were outdone from the floor 46.3 percent to 40.0 percent and connected on 9 of 24 from outside the arc to the Sooners’ 8 of 17. Ok State also conceded a 42-37 rebounding edge to OU and struggled from the free throw line, converting 15 of 22. Sophomore G Marcus Smart scored a team-high 22 points on 6 of 18 shooting, sophomore G Phil Forte had 20 points off the bench, including 6 of 6 from downtown, and senior G Markel Brown added 18 points and 7 rebounds. Through 20 games, the Cowboys rank 10th nationally with 83.9 ppg on 47.7 percent shooting. Smart leads the team with 17.3 ppg followed by Brown at 16.6 ppg.
Rick’s Pick: The line in this one is currently set at -10.5 for Ok State and there doesn’t appear to be any end in sight for Baylor’s tailspin. Things are going so horribly for the Bears right now that they’re even losing when they’re shooting well, evidenced by the loss to West Virginia. Look for a closer game than the line, but another loss for Baylor.
