The Houston Cougars collide with AAC rival the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at the Louis Brown Athletic Center.
It's been tough sledding for Houston in conference play especially with the defense struggling as of late. That has played a part in three consecutive defeats following an 80-43 loss to the same Connecticut squad the Cougars had beaten in the conference opener. There was no upset this time around with the Huskies leading by 29 at the half with UH hitting at 27% from the floor with a 2-18 mark on threes. Danrad Knowles was the only double digit scorer with ten points while grabbing eight rebounds and blocking six shots.

Just like their counterparts it has not been smooth sailing for Rutgers who has also struggled at the defensive end. That was never more apparent in their 88-82 defeat at Temple Wednesday as a late rally could not erase a 13 point deficit. Little defense was played with both teams connecting at just under 53%. The Scarlet Knights strength was a 10-17 effort on threes but the Owls ultimately won because a 20-25 mark at the foul line. Kadeem Jack was high scorer with 18 points and eight boards with Junior Etou adding 14 points and five pulls. JJ Moore tossed in 13 points while Myles Mack and Jerome Seagears combined for 19 points.
Both teams are in struggle mode with neither looking like much more then spoilers at this point. My advise is to look elsewhere but I'll lay the points and hope revenge is sweet...
