The Line: Delaware Blue Hens -7.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
Delaware and its 10-game winning streak will take on Northeastern Sunday night at the Bob Carpenter Center Acierno Arena. The Fightin Blue Hens have all of a sudden become the best team in the Colonial Athletic Association and the Huskies are in the middle of the pack with wins in three of their last five.
The Fightin Blue Hens have not only been solid SU this season, but they also hold a 10-5 record against the spread. In their last five games, they’re shooting a lights out 48.3 percent from the field and averaging 80.4 points. They’re also playing better defense as of late, holding teams to under 41 percent shooting, which is much lower than their season average of 44.7 percent. The downside is they can improve their 68.5 percent from the charity stripe.

The Huskies have been playing their best basketball as of late, winning three of their seven games in their last five. They’re a solid 7-4 against the spread away from home and have covered in four of their last five road games. They are the complete opposite of Delaware, as they want to slow the game down, play defense and grind things out offensively. In their last five games they’re averaging just 59.8 points and holding teams to just 41.4 percent shooting.
When these teams met a few weeks ago Delaware only won the game 74-70, and that’s with the Fightin Blue Hens shooting 56 percent from the field.
Northeastern has been great on the road all season and has actually covered in its last four games away from home. The last three meetings have also been decided by four or less points.
I’ll take my chances with the road team and the points.
