Dayton recently snapped a four-game losing streak and will now hope to build even more momentum on the road against George Mason. The Patriots have lost eight straight games.
The Flyers finally played 40 minutes of basketball on Saturday and beat a solid George Washington by 10 points. They only turned the ball over seven times, shot 45.3 percent and knocked down nine threes. It looked like the Dayton team that we saw in the beginning of the season. But don’t buy into the hype just yet, as the Flyers are only averaging 67.6 points and allowing 73.2 points in their last five games. The defense needs to show consistency.

The Patriots still can’t catch a break. While the losses continue to pile up, they did lose to UMass on the last shot, took Rhode Island to overtime and gave Saint Louis a serious scare on Saturday. They haven’t quite given up yet and should be hungry to snap this losing streak in front of their home fans. However, a defense that is allowing teams to shoot above 45 percent isn’t the recipe to top a solid shooting team in Dayton.
This game could go either way considering the luck of both teams this season, but Dayton is 6-3 against the spread on the road. George Mason is only 2-5 ATS at home, which includes a 1-4 ATS record in its last five at home.
I’m not ready to rebuy Dayton stock just yet, but they are the better team in this matchup. Give me the Flyers on the road and the small chalk.
