There’s going to be a fairly decent basketball game Wednesday night with Saint Louis traveling on the road to play St. Joseph’s. It will be the first and only meeting between these two teams.
The Billikens still have not lost a game since the first of December. They’re one of the top defensive teams in the league, holding opponents under 40 percent shooting and less than 60 points. They have also improved their offense a little bit, scoring above 75 points in their last three games. Senior forward Rob Loe is coming off one of his best performances in which he scored 23 points in an overtime win over George Mason. Saint Louis is 8-11 against the spread this season and 3-6 ATS on the road.
The Hawks continue to surprise in the Atlantic 10 and are coming off back-to-back impressive wins over Dayton and Massachusetts. In their last five games, they’re shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc, 44.7 percent from the field and holding teams to 65.4 points on defense. A 9-7-1 against the spread record isn’t terrific, but the Hawks are becoming a team you should keep an eye on.
Like this game for example. Saint Louis isn’t great against the number on the road and St. Joseph’s will certainly be jacked up with one of the top college basketball teams coming to Philadelphia. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Hawks pulled off the SU upset, which is why I'll take them in a pick em game.
St. Joseph’s is playing great basketball and has a ton of confidence right now.
Don't be afraid to pull the trigger.
